Dr. Reena Patro

Dr. Reena Patro was raised in Dallas, Texas where she attended Austin College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a minor in Spanish. Her passion for Optometry began after seeing an inspirational Indian classical dance performed by blind men. The performance moved her, and stayed with her for years, as the men danced so gracefully, despite their challenges.

Fun Fact: Dr. Patro has a decade of training in Indian classical dance herself!

Dr. Patro earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her time there, she completed externships managing medical conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye. Dr. Patro has been a practicing therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist in Texas since 2014. She can fit multifocal, monovision, and colored contacts. She also manages any red eye emergency issues that can arise from allergies or contact lens related issues.

In her free time, Dr. Patro enjoys spending time with her family and friends, indoor cycling, trying new recipes, and travelling the world. Dr. Patro has never lived outside of Texas! Her husband is currently attending Johnson Graduate School of Management to pursue his MBA. She is excited for new experiences in Ithaca, New York and can now truly appreciate the meaning of ITHACA IS GORGES.

Dr. Patro is looking forward to working at Classic Optical, along with the best certified optician ever, Chuck Cooley, to serve the Cornell community and help with their eye care needs!
